Are you really that insecure? Gears 2 engine can handle thousands of more monsters than Killzone 2 and actually has colors unlike KZ2 which looks like a grey and grey movie.
Not to mention it can render tunnels and buildings and thousands of choppers and vechiles while Killzone 2 renders boxes and buildings with its "almighty&q...
Still though, there's a huge difference between hardware between those two.

This same kind of scenario also happened to me, I once bought a 1000$ camera that was so bad to the point that I felt like I was ripped off...
